Hope for the Journey (formerly known as Empowered to Connect) is a conference that provides practical teaching designed to encourage, educate, and equip families, caregivers, churches, and professionals to better care for children impacted by adoption and foster care. It features presentations on Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI) methods developed by Dr. Karyn Purvis and Dr. David Cross from the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development at TCU to help bring attachment and connection in families. (Follow this link for more information about TBRI: https://child.tcu.edu/#sthash.WSe68SDZ.yr5OJVjh.dpbs )

Details: The prerecorded conference is set up in 5 separate modules for online viewing (each is around 1hr 40 min in duration). Upon registration, individuals will receive a link with instructions. Participants will be able to view each module in your own timing.  Conference notebooks are available at the church or through digital download.

The modules will be available for viewing between April 13 and May 31.  However, we encourage you to view them all by May 5.  On Wednesday, May 5 Grace United Methodist Church in Perrysburg will host a face-to-face gathering from 6-8pm. We invite you to come for a chance to process and discuss the information provided and engage in conversation with others walking similar journeys. Dinner will be included as well as childcare for children 5th grade and under. We will also be available to lead an online discussion for those unable to attend in person.
